Roger is a certified Trager® Practitioner and Mentastics® (self-care movement) Leader . In 1998, he received a certification in the Dr. Vodder Method of Manual Lymph Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy. In 1995, he graduated from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy. He received a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Chicago in 1985, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art with honors from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1983; during his time at Carnegie-Mellon, he also completed one semester of premed courses in gross anatomy, embryology, and histology from the University of Pittsburgh.
In 1960, Roger was born in Uruguay, the son of foreign service workers. As such, he grew up overseas in Dahomey (now Benin), Chad, South Africa, and Haiti. Roger, his wife, and son currently reside in Hyde Park, Chicago.
For more than ten years, Roger has been very active in the healing arts. He has had the opportunity of providing hands-on therapy in clinical, chiropractic,and sports club settings. His work has evolved from an anatomically- specific therapeutic method to an approach that is global, dynamic, and effective.
