The movements area slow and relaxed so that we may slow down and sense our internal selves. The Shu family Tai Chi system is taught in three parts. The Tai Chi form composed of a number of postures that are learned individually and then linked together in a nice rhythmic flow. Next, form applications, which help to give the form substance and teaches students the meaning of "yielding". Finally Form/No-Form, a unique two person exercise that goes to the core of Taoist philosophy.
